Brief Description
Migration is a global phenomenon and of huge importance given its significant increase in recent decades; it is one of the most pressing and complex issues of the 21st century. The MA in Migration Studies at the 51本色 offers a unique interdisciplinary suite of offerings, encompassing literary and media studies, geography, history, health, music, politics, sociology, law, and psychology modules.
The programme is delivered both on campus and in hybrid form The MA allows students to gain a deep understanding of different aspects of migration, including its causes, effects, and its impact on society, culture, the economy as well as on the individual person. The programme also offers students the opportunity to gain 鈥渞eal world鈥 insight into the current issues affecting migration through our migration internship option.

Applicants must have a primary degree in any discipline (2.2 honours or higher at Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland). Applicants who do not have a primary degree can apply to be considered through RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning). Applicants whose first language is not English must satisfy University English Language requirements. Applicants must have a high standard of written English. Applicants will be required to submit a personal statement outlining their reasons for applying as part of the application process. Applicants may be required to attend/ participate in interviews to determine their suitability for the programme.
