Brief Description

Global trade compliance is the process and system of understanding and adhering to the laws and regulations controlling the export/import of goods, products, information and technology between Ireland and other countries. In recent times the area of Global Trade Compliance has become a critical issue for many Irish companies for a number of reasons but, specifically the re-introduction of borders and Brexit.

The Certificate in Global Trade Compliance Level 6 is designed for professionals who seek to consolidate their existing operational experience and gain a formal University accredited qualification.

In today’s global marketplace, companies do business both within Ireland and Internationally. As a result, exporting and importing have become an essential part of day-to-day operations. Since many businesses across a variety of sectors rely on global trade, they need to ensure that their operations have solid global trade compliance.

Currently, many school-leavers entering the workplace only receive on-the-job training with no accreditation. This programme has been created to provide these employees with an accredited Level 6 qualification in recognition of the on-the-job training.

The programme, which is targeted at Junior Staff members is an introduction to global trade compliance which will provide the participants with the necessary skills, knowledge and competencies to enable them to pursue a career in the global trade industry.
