The Glucksman Library is excited to unveil its latest service for  (EBR) which is aimed at empowering researchers with the tools and resources necessary to engage in evidence-based research.

Evidence Based Research originated in the medical field but has since expanded beyond medicine to other fields such as education, psychology, social work, and policy-making. The underlying principle remains the same: making decisions based on rigorous research evidence to improve outcomes and effectiveness.

As part of the service the Research Services team at the Glucksman Library have developed a  for Evidence-Based Research (EBR) which presents a 3-tiered service to support researchers, as well as new processes to manage requests.

  • Tier 1: Targeted for all to help to build awareness of the EBR approach, through a series of sequential, Librarian-led group workshops and online teaching resources.

  • Tier 2: Trained researchers consulting with Librarians to design and plan their project.

  • Tier 3: Expert level research partnership with Librarians collaborating on an EBR project.

The Charter, training and workflows will enable publications based on synthesis, protocols, systematic reviews, scoping reviews, rapid reviews and integrative reviews.

To coincide with the launch of the EBR service the Glucksman Library is delighted to also announce an Institutional Subscription to  which it has co-funded with ULs Health Research Institute (HRI)

Launching the new Evidence-Based Research service, Professor Norelee Kennedy, UL's Vice President of Research congratulated the library on leading in this important research area noting "This service developed by our library colleagues is another excellent example of the innovative and progressive work done by the library to support research in the University."
