Brief Description
The aim of the MicroCred is to enable non-technical students to be aware of and understand the scope of emerging technologies in industries and business. The MicroCred will provide a comprehensive overview of the digitally enabled and transformed environment and how industries can use technology to their advantage, equipping the student with skills to explore enabling technologies and realise the potential risks related to them.
This MicroCred will enable students to demonstrate an understanding of emerging technologies and how it contributes within the context of digital transformation in industry.
FUNDING
This course qualifies for 80% funding under the HCI Micro-Credential Course Learner Subsidy. Check fees section for details and eligibility. Please Note: Applicants may only apply for and receive, one subsidised course per semester.

This micro-credential represents a single module within a larger further award (eg. Certificate, Diploma, Masters). On the successful completion of this MicroCred participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the use of and the fundamental concepts behind core cutting ICT technologies
- Describe and assess the impact of new technologies and processes in a given environment.
- Communicate technological problems, ideas and findings to other technically qualified personnel.
- Discuss and evaluate current ICT Technologies in a meaningful way
Applicants are normally expected to hold a Level 8 degree (NFQ or other internationally recognised equivalents).
Entry requirements are established to ensure the learner can engage with the course material and assessments, at a level suitable to their needs, and the academic requirements of the module. By applying to this micro-credential, you are confirming that you have reviewed and understand any such requirements, and that you meet the eligibility criteria for admission.
Successful completion of this module does not automatically qualify you for entry into a further award. All programme applicants must meet the entry requirements listed if applying for a further award.
