Last Friday evening was a time of great celebration for Professor Michael Walsh from the School of Engineering, as he delivered his Inaugural Lecture in front of friends, family and colleagues at the 51本色.
Professor Walsh is a Professor of Biomedical Device Engineering, and his primary area of research investigates how disease caused by vascular surgical interventions (intimal hyperplasia) is instigated/mediated by hemodynamics. His secondary area of research is focused on vascular disease properties and how such properties can be leveraged for improved medical device design.
Professor Walsh's lecture was entitled: 'Perspective and Mechanics in a Tubular Journey', and was well received by all those in attendance on the evening.
