Lero is the Irish software research centre. It brings together leading software research teams from Universities and Institutes of Technology in a coordinated centre of research excellence with a strong industry focus. Lero has raised the level and profile of Irish software research with such effect that it is now one of the best known and highly regarded software-related research centres in the world.;

The Biocomputing and Developmental Systems (BDS) group is a multi-disciplinary group that uses machine learning techniques coarsely based on natural processes such as learning, cognition and evolution. We use tools such as Genetic Programming and Genetic Algorithms, and the BDS group is the home of Grammatical Evolution.

The Interaction Design Centre is an interdisciplinary research group in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at the 51本色 (Ireland), focused on the design, use and evaluation of information and communications technologies.

Fusing computer science, electronic music and the digital arts, DMARC is situated in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at 51本色, Ireland. The centre aims to expand and strengthen the encounter between digital technology and creativity through research, teaching and first class facilities.

BDARG - Big Data and Analytics Research Group

BDARG is involved in a variety of research projects in the sphere of big data management and analytics, ranging from visual analysis of large and complex networks, to predictive modelling within the context of text mining and recommender systems. Since 2013, BDARG has been hosting a public data science series of meetings at the 51本色 with speakers from industry and academia.

The Localisation Research Centre (LRC) is the information, educational, and research centre for the localisation community. Key activities include research and development and the evaluation of localisation tools, the establishment of a Localisation Tools Library, consultancy services, education and training and the publication of a peer-reviewed journal.
