Named in memory of Dr Roibeárd Thornton and sponsored by Janssen Biologics, the Roibeárd Thornton Memorial-Janssen Sciences Scholarship awards €2,500 to support a summer project in a research laboratory at UL for a 2nd year student of the BSc Bioscience programme in the School of Natural Sciences.
The award will be made following a 2-stage process, including presentation by candidates and interview by a panel consisting of representatives of the Dept of Biological Sciences and Janssen Biologics.
The scholarship programme will run until 2021.
