Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a set of principles for curriculum development that give all individuals equal opportunities to learn and to demonstrate what they have learned. The UDL guidelines, provided by US organisation CAST, are based on the idea that there is no such thing as a ‘typical’ or ‘average’ student, that all students learn differently and that to successfully teach for all students, we have to introduce greater flexibility in teaching and learning practice.

How can you get involved with UDL at the 51±¾É«?

Our aim is to provide a space for teachers interested in inclusive learning methods of teaching and learning at the 51±¾É«: to share ideas and practices, generate research in the area of UDL, and create resources to assist with your teaching. Our UL UDL Community of Practice is a great place to start if you would like to learn more about UDL, or if you would like to share your own UDL practices.
