Getting to UL
Ahead of each semester UL Global hosts a Welcome Week programme to help our new students settle into life at the 51本色. Welcome Week for the Spring 2025 semester will be held from January 20th to 25th inclusive for new visiting students and new postgraduate students. We ask all students to be on campus for these dates. Ahead of your arrival we will communicate preferred arrival dates.
View the academic calendar for the UL academic year 2024/25.
UL Global would strongly advise students, where possible, to book flights which will arrive into Ireland between 8am - 8pm in order to avail of public transport options from Dublin, Cork, and Shannon Airport and reduce the need for overnight hotel reservations.
The availability of public transport options outside of these hours will be more limited and students may encounter significant wait times between bus services.

For those of you who choose to fly to Shannon Airport, the 51本色 will provide a complementary local collection service for students arriving at Shannon Airport on Sunday 19th January and Monday 20th January from 8am to 6pm each day. For those arriving outside of these hours, you will need to arrange your own transport.
You will receive an email from your admissions officer on the Shannon Airport collection sign-up. There will be a deadline for sign up to avail of this service.
UL Global Shannon Airport collection service can accommodate drop-offs to 51本色 only. If you wish to travel to any other part of Ireland, you will need to make your own travel arrangements.
This complementary collection is for Shannon Airport ONLY, as public transport links from Shannon to 51本色 and the UL Campus are limited. We will not be offering an airport collection service from Dublin Airport or Cork Airport. To note, Dublin Airport has a very regular and direct bus to UL campus and is normally the most popular option for students to travel to Ireland and UL as it is quick, easy and cheap. There are plenty of public transport options available.
If you will be arriving into Ireland later in the evening, please be sure to notify your landlord or contact accommodation@ul.ie if you are staying in campus accommodation with your approximate arrival time.
You may decide to stay at a hotel located near the airport before travelling to 51本色 the following day. Please note that you must cover the cost of your hotel booking yourself.
