Accommodation

All Incoming Students can apply for on-campus accommodation across the different villages at the 51±¾É«. Please note, accommodation is limited and not all students may be successful in their application.

Applications for Spring 2025 are not closed, Students will have received all application information following the completion and acceptance of their application to the 51±¾É«. 

If you wish to opt for off-campus accommodation, there are a number of off-campus residences and privately rented houses in the locality. Please see our . UL does not accept liability for accommodation advertised on this off campus database.

Below are links to accommodation sites provided by UL in good faith and as a courtesy to assist students in finding accommodation in Ireland. These are third party websites and UL bears no responsibility for the content, errors, omissions or inaccuracies contained therein. UL provides this information for information purposes only and not as an endorsement. UL has not vetted these properties or landlords.

Please beware of fraudulent persons purporting to be landlords/landladies on Facebook, Internet sites or other media. Do not pay money to persons for accommodation, unless you are absolutely sure that they are genuine – landlords/ladies should not request full payment of rent before you have arrived in Ireland. Always request a contract be signed.

Arrival in Ireland

Ahead of each semester UL Global hosts a full Welcome Week programme to help our new students settle into life at the 51±¾É«. The Welcome Week for the Spring 2025 semester will be held from January 20th to 25th inclusive. We ask all students to be on campus for these dates. Ahead of your arrival we will communicate preferred arrival dates.

  • The documentation for extending your visa to study and for opening a bank account. You will receive information from us soon on how you can open a bank account.

Please note, students no longer require a border control letter to enter Ireland

Life in Ireland

A (PPS) Number is a unique reference number that helps you access social welfare benefits, public services and information in Ireland. 

You can apply for a PPS number online

In order to get a PPS Number, you must provide evidence of 

  • your identity (current passport) 

  • why you need a PPS Number 

  • your address 

Current UL students can apply for a PPS application letter using the online letter request portal

Student Visa Information

UL uses Digitary, an online secure document platform to enable applicants, students, and graduates to access certified and secure electronic documents. The Visa Support Letter for applicants is available through Digitary and is issued upon payment of fees. 

Note for full degree undergraduate and postgraduate applicants: this letter will only be issued upon payment of 50% of tuition fees. Students in receipt of a tuition fee scholarship will also need to provide supporting scholarship documentation as part of their visa application.

Students from the EU do not need a visa to study in Ireland.

Non-EU students should well in advance of departure. Students of some non-EU countries do not require a visa. .
