The Student SharePoint Portal is the central communication hub for students throughout their programme in relation to practice placements. Managed by the Allocations team in UL, the Student SharePortal is accessible to all students registered on the BSc Nursing (General), BSc Nursing (Intellectual Disability) and BSc Nursing (Mental Health) and BSc Midwifery programmes.
It provides the essential information and communication link for students in relation to Practice Placement.
Practice placement sites provide learning opportunities for student nurses and midwives to attain competencies’ that address and meet the programme specific Nursing & Midwifery Standards and Requirements of their programme (NMBI 2023, 2016). Students on the BSc Nursing (General), BSc Nursing (Intellectual Disability) and BSc Nursing (Mental Health) and BSc Midwifery programmes attend placement sites in a wide variety of associated healthcare provider public, private and voluntary locations throughout HSE West, HSE South South-West, HSE Mental Health Services, Mid-West Community Healthcare.

- Avista Disability Support Services
- Community & Public Health Nursing Services 51±¾É« and Clare and North Tipperary
- University Maternity Hospital 51±¾É«
- University Hospital Waterford, Maternity Service
- St. Luke's General Hospital, Maternity Service
- South Tipperary General Hospital, Maternity Services
Students are encouraged to provide feedback to contribute to the development of quality learning environments. On completion of each practice placements students are invited to complete an evaluation form relating to their experience on placement.
