We are delighted to welcome you to the 2nd Refugee and Migrant Health Research Networking and Knowledge Exchange Seminar, in December 2024.  This seminar is coordinated by researchers in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance and the Participatory Health Research Unit, School of Medicine, 51±¾É« (UL), in partnership with Doras. It is part of the Refugee and Migrant Health Partnership (a partnership between UL’s WHO Collaborating Centre for Participatory Health Research with Refugees and Migrants and the Department of Health). This seminar is funded by the Health Research Board.

The inaugural Refugee and Migrant Health Seminar hosted by the 51±¾É« in December 2022 was a huge success. The purpose of this 2024 seminar is to provide a platform for sharing refugee and migrant health research or about initiatives for refugee and migrant health.

The main objectives of this seminar are to:

  1. Provide a platform for dissemination of refugee and migrant health research outcomes to inform policy and practice.
  2. Cultivate links between new and emerging community, academic, health sector and health policy maker partnerships and networks to progress collaborations for refugee and migrant health research and practice.
  3. Provide a space for dialogue with policymakers, health service planners and providers, civil society organisations and people with lived experience of migration, in highlighting the involvement of refugees and migrants in the development of public health policy through the Refugee and Migrant Health Partnership (partnership between UL’s WHO Collaborating Centre for Participatory Health Research with Refugees and Migrants   and Department of Health).

The call for abstracts for sharing by oral presentation, sharing by conversation or sharing by poster presentation is now open.
