A two-day meeting of the is being co-organised by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Mathematics Application Consortium for Science and Industry (MACSI) at the 51±¾É« together with the Department of Mathematics and Computer Studies at .

The aim of the meeting is to bring together researchers from a wide range of mathematical topics of interest to the mathematical community on the island of Ireland.

The  was held at Technological University Dublin in September 2022.

SIAM UKIE Student Poster Presentation Prize


Postgraduate students/early career researchers are invited to display a poster. The poster session will take place on Thursday 31 August, 4.40pm – 5.40pm in the foyer of the Bernal Building (outside rooms MSG024 - 025).

A prize for the best postgraduate student's poster is sponsored by the . The award will consist of a certificate and a monetary prize of 100 Euro. The purpose of the Student Poster Presentations Prize is to recognise outstanding scholarship by students in mathematics. We are grateful for the SIAM UKIE Section for sponsoring these awards. 

Students presenting a poster should print it and bring it to the conference themselves (A0 portrait format).

 


Conference Venue, travel & transportation


The IMS annual meeting 2023 will be held on the 51±¾É« (UL) campus. Information on the location of the UL campus can be found here. Travel and transport information to the campus can be found here.

All conference activities will take place on the ground floor of the Bernal Institute on the UL campus (building 18, grid location D4 on the UL campus map). The lectures will take place in rooms MSG024-025, while the posters will be displayed in the foyer of the Bernal Institute outside the lecture rooms MSG024-025.

Lunches and coffee breaks will be provided to participants also in the foyer of the Bernal Institute outside MSG024-025.

 


Conference dinner


There will be a conference dinner on the evening of Thursday the 31st of August, at 7pm. The venue is in the  and the cost of 30 Euro per person, payable at the registration desk on arrival.

 


Accommodation


Hotels , , are close to the UL’s campus.

There are also several hotels located in 51±¾É« city centre, including , , , , are located in 51±¾É« city centre. Information about bus transportation from 51±¾É« city centre to UL can be found here.

Please note that the Castletroy Park Hotel has only a limited number of rooms available during the time or the IMS conference. However, the hotel has kindly agreed to accommodate participants to the IMS meeting, subject to availability, at the discounted rate of 109 Euro per night (please let the hotel know that you will be a participant of the Irish Mathematical Society conference at UL to avail of this rate).
