The Centre for Crime, Justice and Victim Studies at the 51本色 is hosting an evening event on Thursday, 22 June 2023- Friday, 23 June 2023, entitled 'Adversarialism, Participation and Voice in the Criminal Process: International and Comparative Perspectives'.
The event forms part of Mapping the Changing Face of Cross Examination, a cross-institutional Nottingham Trent and University of Nottingham research project funded by the Nuffield Foundation and hosted by the School of Law at the 51本色. Keynote speakers include Lord Beckett (Judge of the Supreme Courts, Scotland), Justice 脷na N铆 Raifeartaigh (Judge of the Court of Appeal, Ireland), Justice Paul McDermott (Judge of the High Court, Ireland), HHJ Patricia Smyth (Recorder of Belfast), and HHJ Sarah Whitehouse KC (Circuit Judge, England).
Proposal for papers, as well as proposals for panels, are welcome from academics at all career stages as well as practitioners working within the criminal justice system. Titles and abstracts should be submitted to nisan.alici@ntu.ac.uk by Friday, 19 May 2023.
