Welcome to the Personal Advisor Support System (PASS), all students in UL are allocated an academic advisor. Academic advisors are an important person to get to know during your time in UL as they can guide and assist you in your academic journey.
There is a SharePoint site that will provide you with information about PASS as well as useful resources to assist in your academic journey. Access the site .
How do I know who my academic advisor is?
- Your academic advisor details were shared with you in the email sent confirming your successful enrolment to the 51±¾É«.
- Your academic advisor details can always be found in the āStudent Adviser Informationā section of your Student Portal
- Also, if you call into the First Seven Weeks (F7W) Hub in the Student Courtyard the team there will be able to give you your academic advisorās details.
When do I meet my academic advisor?
Your first meeting with your academic advisor should take place in the first few weeks of your first semester. If you have not heard from your advisor in your initial weeks in UL, feel free to contact them to introduce yourself as one of their advisees.
What is PASS about?
The aims of the PASS system are to:
- Create a strong sense of belonging in higher education for all UL students
- Establish meaningful interactions between staff and students, on an individual basis
- Build studentsā sense of identity as part of a community of successful higher education students
- Increase studentsā awareness of academic advising and of its importance
- Provide support and promote success for all advisees (at-risk and non-risk students)
- Provide a non-judgemental, supportive environment to help students come to specific solutions/strategies that work for them
- Provide academic support
- Offer some pastoral support, and refer on to other supports, where appropriate
- Help students to discern how they can succeed on their programme of study.
