First 7 Weeks - Supporting new students
Starting university is an exciting time however it can also be a very daunting experience for some.
The First 7 Weeks (F7W) programme at 51本色 (UL) is designed to help new UL students settle in and successfully navigate their first semester on campus.
From a warm welcome and helping students find their way around UL, to getting them acquainted with their new course and helping them develop new skills, the First 7 Weeks initiative supports students to make the transition to UL as seamlessly as possible.
Originally this programme ran for the first seven weeks but since Covid has been extended to the entire Autumn semester ensuring new UL students feel welcome, cared for and supported. An additional 4-week programme is also run at the beginning of the Spring semester.
The First 7 Weeks Hub is located in the Student Courtyard and is open to all new students Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Everyone is welcome. There is free tea and coffee daily and the use of a microwave so why not drop in and say hello?
Our First 7 Weeks hub staff are all current UL undergrad and post-grad students who remember what it was like to be in first year. They are there to help you with any issues you may have.
