It is also informed by the national Gender Equality Action Plan which was published on 2018

The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission is Ireland’s national human rights and equality institution whose purpose is to promote and protect human rights and equality in Ireland and build a culture of respect for human rights, equality and intercultural understanding in the State.

The Department of Education published a framework for consent in higher education entitled ‘’ (2019)

This was followed soon after by Guidelines issued by the Irish University Association to assist universities in ensuring an effective responses to reports or complaints of sexual misconduct
